Description
Yeast is a special group of unicellular fungi that live in places where the sugar content is high: on the fruits of plants, in the nectar of flowers, in the wound juices of trees. Yeast is also found in the soil and in natural reservoirs.
The taste of edible yeast is pleasant, nutty and cheesy, resembling something between hard parmesan and cashew nuts.
Usage: food yeast is used in dishes as a seasoning. They can be added to soups, fried eggs, salads, pasta, fried vegetables, noodles or stews.
